During our holiday travels, we heard the news that Eartha Kitt had passed away on Christmas Day.  What a day to make an entrance into heaven and if anyone could do it, it would be Ms. Eartha Kitt.  Kim Cooley of Carpe Vita Photography was blessed to see Ms. Kitt perform on her 80th birthday in Los Angeles, CA in January 2007.  Ms. Kitt participated in the Diva Bling party held by The Special Event which is an annual gathering of wedding and event coordinators.  Ms. Kitt was the piece ‘d resistance for the evening engineered by event designer extraordinaire Charles Banfield.

She will be missed but not forgotten by those of us who got to see her in action.

Friday night, the Dallas based Bracewell & Giuliani team celebrated the holidays with a gathering at the decked out Four Seasons Hotel.

The evening started with formal portraits by the Christmas tree taken by Steve Cooley of Carpe Vita Photography and then moved on to cocktails.  An elegant dining experience came next with the shrimp/crawfish display being a very popular station as well as the dessert table which offered many of the Four Season favorites.  Encore Productions Entertainment provided great entertainment options for the guests from a caricature artist, to a palm reader and a hand writing analysts.  There were also casino tables and Dance Fuse was the band.

Carpe Vita Photography is in catchup mode.  We have been photographing holiday parties and having a blast.

Saturday night, we were at the lovely Hilton Southlake Town Square where Raquel and Cristina and their incredible staff took great care of us.  The Pegasus Logistics family was celebrating the holidays and Kim and Steve Cooley of Carpe Vita Photography had a great time photographing all of the fun taking place.

Shanna Marko of The Organized Event added that amazing touch of hers to make the party a true party while DJ Marcus Rollins kept the party moving with just the right mix of tunes and encouragement all night long.

Gwen and her boys Dean and Dylan have been clients of Carpe Vita Photography for sometime.  If you check out our life/portrait website at www.CarpeVitaLife.com, you’ll see some past photos of the boys.  This year it is official, Rick and his son Jake are now part of the clan.  It was great to photograph everyone together.  As you’ll see from the slideshow, this is a lovely family who know how to have fun.  Enjoy!
