We at Carpe Vita Photography love a challenge and that is why we love photographing on location – and the family home can be one of the best locations available.
In our consultation with seniors and their parents, we ask them to consider their home as an option because this a location that they will be comfortable in, their wardrobes are nearby for us to raid and coordinate with if necessary and it can really add a signature touch the anonymity of a studio can’t touch. Often the first response is, our home wouldn’t be good – hence why we have a consultation to better educate clients that we are looking for backgrounds different that what the normal visitor to their home might see.
Here are a few examples: We started on the front steps of this senior’s home.

Next to her bedroom – the red went perfect with the interiors that had been created with her in mind. The dress shows off the grown-up she is becoming, while the decor and items of interest (guitars) talk about the transitioning senior.

As a star basketball player for a championship team, we had to show off the tee promoting her and her team as winners.
What better place than the actual practice hoop off the garage.

All the planning is done, all that is left to do is the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.
What a special time this can be – hopefully you can finally breathe and really start to absorb all that you two have envisioned and brought together.

From fun angles at the church that we aren’t allowed to photograph on wedding day to the casualness felt being surrounded by close friends and family.

Then there is the rehearsal dinner, where everyone can let their true personalities shine and the touching toasts begin.

Gifts are shared and thanks is given for all that each member involved has contributed.

With Katie and Tyler, we hadn’t had a chance to photograph them alone like a traditional engagement session so we snuck them away for a few moments together.

The perfect ending to their last night not married.

Rehearsal coverages can be added to any of the Carpe Vita Photography wedding coverages. Some couples choose to create a separate small album of this celebrations, while others like to include the photos in their own wedding album.
