School is back in session and Carpe Vita is actively seeking cool (and hot) high school students to join the Carpe Vita Crew.

Now that Carpe Vita Photography is getting settled into our new studio location in Grapevine on lovely Main Street, we are ready to start something we have wanted to do for a while – Short Sweet Sessions.  These are awesome little sessions that help fill in the spaces between the bigger custom Carpe Vita family sessions.

Our first Short Sweet Session is Monday, May 3rd in honor of mommies everywhere!

The Short Sweet Sessions are quick 20 minute ditties, that are themed and available only for one day so we will only have 15 slots each time we have one of these days.   They will usually take place either on a Monday or a Friday – that way they don’t interfere with the weekend sports schedule or Mom’s Day Outs held in the middle of the week.

The themes are ideas we have come up with that will focus on relationships within your family or on fun ways to compliment your decor with creative family photography, so designed to be displayed in different areas of your home.  Some examples of upcoming themes and where they could displayed in your home include Little Chef/Cupcakes for the Kitchen, Rainy Day for the mudroom, and Clean Laundry/Dirty Laundry for the Laundry Room. to name a few.

Kacey and Chad are getting married June 6th and so while they had a little time off during the holidays, Kim and Steve Cooley of Carpe Vita Photography photographed them spending some quality time together.

Elizabeth is a music teacher and talented pianist who is about to release her first CD of recorded music. Kim Cooley of Carpe Vita Photography met Elizabeth and her husband the night of the NACE 50th Anniversary Celebration and bounced around the idea of pairing some of Elizabeth’s music with Carpe Vita Photography work.

Earlier in July, we all got together to photograph Elizabeth around Dallas and here are some of the fun photos that came from that session.

A quick change into something a little cooler.

And then another change for a more casual look. We really enjoy photographing in downtown Dallas – you never know what you might find.

Utilizing graphics on location that complimented Elizabeth’s outfit was all part of the fun and makes this quick little mock-up of an album cover super easy.

Of course there is a slide show. Too bad we didn’t yet have any of Elizabeth’s music to pair up with her photos.

I had to include this little outtake or behind the scenes shot of Elizabeth’s hubsand directing traffic away from his lovely wife. Men you take care of their girls are by far the best!
