School is back in session and Carpe Vita is actively seeking cool (and hot) high school students to join the Carpe Vita Crew.
What do you have to do? Just be featured in some really fun and unique photography and then share the images with your friends and fellow students. And parents. And anyone else you want.
In addition, you’ll have the chance to earn photography print credits, make a little money, win some great prizes, and just look fabulous.
Interested? Text your name, school, and graduation date to Carpe Vita at 817-264-6132. Or click here to contact us.
Back in 2007, Kim Cooley of Carpe Vita Photography learned all about Lovesacs from a photography group we are involved with. So of course, we had to have one and of course, we didn’t go with the normal size, we had to go with a Supersac. The supersac is 65 to 70 pounds, 6 feet in diameter and supposedly can hold 3 adults at one time or up to 14 kids at a time (a little exageration, we think). Anyway, it arrived in April 2007 and we were too afraid that if we opened it it might take over the house so we waited. Anyway, when January 2008 rolled around and we still hadn’t opened it, it seemed only fair to celebrate the new year with a grand opening (ha, bad pun).
This video shows the unpacking as well as some of the fun we had with the sac while it lived with us.
Here’s some photos from one of our 2009 senior sessions with the lovesac.
And one of our family lovesac sandwiches from this spring.
Anyway, as mentioned in the video, over time the lovesac has gotten a little less love than it deserves while taking up a lot of space. So when Katie and Jony were here to see their wedding photos and Katie seems so enamored with it (the lovesac that is), we struck a little deal and it was decided that the lovesac would move to Memphis for more love. The lovesac left Grapevine on Sunday and we have already heard through facebook that it made it safely and is doing well. As Kim has never been to Graceland, now we have even more reasons to visit Katie and Jony and to check in on the lovesac.
It’s amazing the lovesac made it into Jony’s car – obviously the lovesac is very flexible!
We already miss seeing the lovesac in the living room and the thought of a lovesac nap right now sounds so good – such is life. We wish the lovesac a great life with Katie and Jony and hope they will send photos from time to time!
You have seen Rachael’s Class of 2009 Carpe Vita Crew sessions (we used to call them models), now here are some of the photos from her personal session based on what she and her parents had in mind.
We are now taking applications and photographing our Class of 2010 Carpe Vita Crew members. What is a Carpe Vita Crew member? They are high school kids who help us spread the word about Carpe Vita Photography and our approach to unique senior portraits. Carpe Vita Crew members get the option of three sessions (one promotional session during their junior year, one senior session in June or July before their senior year and then one family session before they graduate if they like) for an incredibly low price. In turn crew members show off their photos and for each senior they refer to Carpe Vita that books their session with us, the crew member receives dollars off their photo purchases and points toward cool things like cash and even a laptop.
If you are interested or know someone who would be a great candidate for the Carpe Vita Crew member program, please let us know. Here’s a link to the Class of 2010 application. Just download the application, complete it, email it to us at info@carpevitaphotography.com and we will schedule a time to meet with you and a parent to review the program and sign the crew agreement.
Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of photographing Julian at his home. Julian knocked us out with his cool ideas and we absolutely love that he chose to wear an awesome tux for part of his session. Mom, we promise we did get some great smiles from Julian.
